This project taught me how real digital advertising works in practice — where a single campaign concept has to flex across contexts without losing its identity. Designing all three formats simultaneously rather than sequentially was the key discipline: it forced every layout decision to be tested against all three canvases before committing.
What I learned
Multi-format design is a systems problem — the visual language has to be flexible enough to adapt without breakin
Color-coding information hierarchies is one of the most efficient tools in advertising design — it does organizational work without adding visual clutter
Brand fluency matters — understanding rom&nd’s aesthetic deeply enough to extend it into a new context produced a stronger result than starting from scratch
Illustration and type can do different jobs in the same layout — the doodles carry the brand warmth while the bold offer type does the conversion work
If I Took This Further
Extend the campaign into animated versions for Instagram Stories and TikTok ads, bringing the polaroid cards and doodle accents to life through subtle motion
Design a landing page layout that continues the visual system from the ads into the shopping experience
Test the campaign against rom&nd’s actual brand guidelines to explore where the fictional system aligns and where it could be refined
